[02] Such a ballast plow is known from WO 2010/139381. With the help of the tiltable ballast silo, the stored ballast can optionally be returned to the track via a chute as required or transported to a connected storage trolley for complete emptying.
[03] A ballast plow known from US 5 094 018 is used for ballasting the track in conjunction with a proper profiling of the ballast bedding. For this purpose, it is necessary to store in track sections with excess gravel this and drop as needed from the ballast silo on the track.
The object of the present invention is now to provide a ballast plow of the type mentioned, with an extended use of the ballast silo is possible.

[10] A ballast plow 1 shown in FIG. 1 has a machine frame 3 supported on rail bogies 2 and can be moved on a track 6 by a travel drive 4 in a working direction 5. A driving and working cabin 7 is equipped with a control device 8.
[11] A height-adjustable plow 9 and a rearrangement 10 are arranged between the two rail carriages 2. This has a rotatable broom 11, with the excess gravel 12 lying on the track 6 can be transported via a steep conveyor belt 13 into a ballast silo 14.

The unloading device 26 is designed as in the machine longitudinal direction 23 extending and arranged below the bottom conveyor belt 16 transfer conveyor belt 28. Thus, excess ballast 12 is dropped in a region 33 which is located laterally adjacent to the track 6 with respect to the conveying direction 31.
